Today, we are announcing to all our users, where we are headed as a company, the upcoming changes to our website and brand, and the massive new facelift coming to the software this May. There has been a lot happening for us as an organization and we’ve got a lot to share with you.
One year later, a lot has changed, but a lot is staying the same.
It was less than a year ago that we unveiled Ricochet 3.0. While introducing many new features and new navigational layout, the primary purpose behind this update was for us to reconstruct the development architecture of the software. Doing so would allow us to make changes with more pace, and be able to scale the business and its capabilities far beyond what it was originally capable of.
With that said, 2019 has been a massive year for us as an organization. We’ve brought new staff to the team, laid out some strategic plans and future product releases for the next 9-12 months. But today, we are excited to announce our largest update so far.
Welcome to the new Ricochet.
All of this change meant that the company was ready for a fresh look. Going from our original styling and language to something that looks more towards the future of the organization. With brighter colors, bolder and softer typefaces, and subtle hints of mid-century artistry, we feel that this new branding speaks much closer to who we are and hope to become.
Welcome the new logo and styling of Ricochet. In the coming weeks, we will be doing a more in-depth post about our process, how and why we went with this design and direction. Keep an eye out for that.
A Massive Software Update
This is the meat of the matter. We can do all the fancy changes we want to the brand and website, but they don’t mean anything if the product isn’t just as good. We are officially launching a large user experience update to Ricochet in early May.
There are dozens of changes, new features, and subtle things to help our users be quicker, more organized, and more capable as a store. We have launched a more robust product variant system, a new and more organized settings sections, and a fully revamped POS. There’s a lot to cover.
Website Changes Coming Later This Spring
As with any fresh company update in 2019, that includes a website overhaul. For the past several months, we’ve dedicated almost all of our development and design resources to building the latest version of Ricochet. We always need to make sure that we pour the most time and energy into our current customers.
Right now, the website poorly reflects the product and our company. So that is also getting a major refresh this spring. The official launch date is currently unconfirmed, but we are happy to share some of our development screenshots with you today.
Along with the design changes, we are adding dozens of pages to cover different functions of the software in detail. Each major component of the software has a thorough page covering every single feature available. Through the years and data we’ve seen, our visitors are very precise and often have a need for one or two specific features. Making sure that the website beautifully and comprehensively represents the product is important to us.

2019 is off to a great start, and we are super excited for what’s next.
It goes without saying that we wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for our loyal customers and supporters. We have an incredible team of people who believe in consignment, believe in it’s potential and want to see it grow. Our staff has been working tirelessly to continue bringing the best consignment experience possible.
Like we mentioned, we have lots of plans for this year and so much to look forward to. Our development timeline is filled with small and large feature releases, new integrations, and some pretty large and game-changing product announcements.
